New York City dance troupe will perform and offer classes around the Lehigh Valley.

Ballet Hispanico will bring a celebration of Latino culture more than 40 years old to Lafayette College Friday night.

The New York City based dance troupe will perform at 8 p.m. at the Williams Center for the Performing Arts.

"Founded by National Medal of Arts recipient Tina Ramirez, Ballet Hispanico is now led by the charismatic Eduardo Valera, who continues to advance the diverse dance aesthetics of the Hispanic diaspora, building new avenues of cultural dialogue and sharing the joy of dance with all communities," the college said in a news release.

In addition to the Williams Center show, the troupe will hold a dance workshop Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Northampton Community College's Fowler Family Center, 511 E. Third St., Bethlehem.

They'll also offer a class at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5 at the Performing Arts High School and are scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. for a reception with Lafayette students at the Grossman House for Global Perspectives.
