Corrections Officer Running for City Council

Kim Yedlosky says she wants to bring more attention to Easton's West Ward.

A Northampton County corrections officer says she's running for City Council.

Kim Yedlosky, a West Ward resident, announced Thursday she's seeking to take the council seat that will be left vacant by Councilman Mike Fleck, who is choosing not to run for re-election.

In her announcement, Yedlosky argues her neighborhood has been ignored at the expense of downtown beautification projects, and says she "wants to bring more focus and resources back to the West Ward and make sure that residents’ concerns are heard and addressed by council."

She also said she wants to increase home ownership in the West Ward, and to bring a greater police presence to that part of the city.

Yedlosky, a Republican who is married with one son, has lived in the West Ward for 20 years.
