Man in Van Tries to Lure Wilson Girl

Wilson police are looking for a man who tried to lure a 9-year-old girl into his van Sunday afternoon.

According to police, the girl was riding her bike at 19th Street and Hay Terrace around 3:30 p.m. when the man approached her and tried to talk her into the van.

She rode off and the man drove away. Police say they don't know which way he headed. The man was in his 50s with a long gray beard and his hair in a ponytail.

The van was older, dark green, dented and "beat up," police say. Anyone with information can call police at 610-258-8746, or contact the 911 center at 610-759-2200.

This was one of two reported child lurings in the Easton area Sunday afternoon. A few hours before this happened, a man in a red pick-up truck targeted a 13-year-old girl in Easton.
