Frozenlandia Opens in Easton

Family-owned frozen yogurt shop moves into former Bixler's space.

Easton's new Frozen yogurt shop, Frozenlandia, opened a few weeks ago, and had lines out the door Tuesday for its grand opening (which also featured free yogurt.)

Here are five things to know about it:

1. It's not a chain...yet. But owner Oscar Oviedo said he wouldn't mind franchising.

2. The monster characters on the wall were designed by Oviedo's daughter. They're actually a family: Frozito (the dad), Frozita (the mom) and son and daughter Frozitonio and Frozitonia.

3.  It's open late. Hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Friday, and 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. Saturdays.

4. If you've been to a yogurt place like Pinkberry, you'll get the layout: Fill up your cup from a series of self-serve dispensers, then request some toppings. Flavors include cake batter, cookies and cream, Georgia peach, very strawberry, toasted marshmallow, red velvet cake and island banana.

5. It used to be a jewelry store. Frozenlandia occupies the space that used to be Bixler's Jewelers, which closed its Centre Square store in 2009.
