Riverside Festival Wants Artists

17th annual Riverside Festival of the Arts will return to Easton in September.

The Arts Community of Easton is accepting applications from artists and artisans for the 2013 Riverside Festival of the Arts.

Now in its 17th year, the festival—scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 21 and 22 along the city waterfront—is a multi-arts event which showcases works by dozens of artists from around the region.

The festival is centered around a juried art show/sale, which awards the winning artist and crafters $1,600 in cash prizes.

The contest is broken down into two categories: Fine Arts, which includes painting, drawing, pastel, printmaking, photography and sculpture, and Fine Crafts, which features jewelry, mosaic, fabric and fiber, stained glass, metalwork, woodwork, clay work and more.

Organizers say the festival has grown every year, with 60 artists and craftspeople taking part last year.
