Alleged Heroin Dealer Headed to Court

Man with Jersey City and Pittsburgh addresses remains in Northampton County Prison.

 

Alleged drug ring member Marvin Chambliss waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, June 28, and charges of will now head to Northampton County Court, according to court records.

Chambliss, 47, is accused of distributing heroin in Easton, along with Michael Shawn Dixon and Jerome Caldwell.

Chambliss was arrested in April and charged by police with selling 281 packets of heroin for $1,650 to an undercover informant in 2010.

Unable to post bail, Chambliss was recommitted to Northampton County Prison to await his next hearing date on Aug. 18.

He has been in jail since September, 2010, when he was arrested for allegedly selling thousands of dollars worth of heroin to a police source in a series of "controlled buys."

In April, Dixon was sentenced to 5 to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of delivering a controlled substance.

Police have said the ring was under surveillance for about a year, and controlled buys from the three dealers totaled nearly $20,000.
