About Bill

I work as a stringer (aka, occasional freelancer) for Easton Patch because I believe in community journalism, and I want to stay engaged in my community. Writing for Patch also helps keep my journalistic skills polished.

My "day" job, which I love, is teaching journalism and creative writing at East Stroudsburg University, where I'm an associate professor of English. I have written and/or worked for major newspapers all over the world. My writing and editing credits include the Washington Post, Guardian, New York Times, the Times of London, and many other publications.

I hold bachelor's and master's degrees in English from Miami University (Ohio), and a master of fine arts degree in writing from the University of Houston.

I live in Wilson Borough with my wife and son. I'm a proud dual-citizen of both the United States and United Kingdom.
