Easton police charge 14th Street man with selling heroin.
Easton police say neighbor complaints about "a high level of drug activity" on S. 14th Street led to a raid Tuesday morning. Police served a search warrant at 16 S. 14th St. around 6 a.m., taking two people in the building into custody, according to Lt. Matthew Gerould. Esteban Candelario, 20, was the target of the investigation and is charged with delivery of heroin, police said. Lillian Werkheiser, no age given, was arrested for marijuana possession. She was processed, released and will be issued a summons. Candelario was expected to be arraigned later in the day Tuesday.

Terique E. Grayman, 23, accused of taking "multiple" items from South Side home.
A South Side man entered the home of a family of seven around 4 a.m. Sunday and briefly got away with a television worth $319, cash and loose change totaling $7.19 and some food items, Easton police say. Terique E. Grayman, 23, was spotted a short time later about a block from the home and was identified by one of the residents, court records say. A criminal complaint filed by city Patrolman Benjamin Mastrofilippo said a woman on the 300 block of Palmer Street came downstairs and saw a man in the kitchen. Easton police investigating a series of vehicle fires set Saturday in the West Ward.
Five car fires were reported early Saturday in Easton's West Ward, and now police are saying those fires were arson. The fires along Lehigh and Washington streets "were deliberately set," Lt. Matthew Gerould told the Express-Times. Video of one of the fires was captured by reader Ryan Brennan. It's included with this story. Easton police are investigating three vehicle fires that happened early Saturday and they released a description of a man they want to talk to.
Five vehicle fires within about nine hours Saturday morning are being investigated and police released a description of a "person of interest" they want to talk to about the incidents. Police say a white man 5 feet 10 to 6 feet tall wearing light-colored clothing was seen on the 1200 block of Lehigh Street around the time of some of the fires. He may have fled east on Lehigh Street, possibly in a black vehicle. The fires occurred as follows, according to a press release from Easton police: Authorities are processing all of the vehicles. An Easton man was arrested for making terroristic threats against two women “while waving a large sword in the air in a violent fashion,” city police said. Michael Ayala, 42, of 20 N. Ninth St., is accused in the incident, which occurred on the 800 block of Pine Street on May 10 at about 8:12 p.m., police said. The two women victims told police that Ayala had come to their home and engaged them in an argument while he waved the sword around, according to an arrest affidavit. Ayala allegedly told the women that he was “going to get” them, police said. Ayala was charged with two counts each of simple assault (attempt by menace), terroristic threats and harassment. Easton police are looking for a man who acted in 'suspicious manner' in West Ward.
Easton police said they are investigating a "suspicious situation" in which a man approached an 11-year-old girl in the West Ward. Police said the incident happened Tuesday afternoon at about 4 in the 300 block of N. 9th Street. The girl was in a back yard when the man approached her, asking her "What are you doing?" and telling her "Come over here." Police say the man was spotted in another neighbor's yard as well. He was black, about 6 feet tall, with short dreadlocks and wearing a red shirt. Although this happened Tuesday, it wasn't reported until Wednesday, police said. Canal Park resident Jermaine Wilson, Sr. jailed on assault charges, Easton police say.
An Easton man was jailed Tuesday after allegedly assaulting and/or choking a woman and two teenagers, city police said. Police say Jermaine Wilson, Sr., 40, was arrested Tuesday for the assault, which allegedly happened Monday. According to police, Wilson attacked a 32-year-old woman, 14-year-old boy and 16 year old girl. He was arraigned before District Judge Daniel Corpora on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment. Police say Wilson was sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail.

Easton man accused of punching girlfriend, who police say needed stitches.
A woman with a large gash on her head ran about eight blocks to Easton Hospital early Wednesday after her boyfriend punched her, court records say. Police have charged her boyfriend, Gary P. Fehr, 43, of 1348 Ferry St., Easton, with simple assault and harassment by physical contact. A criminal complaint filed by city Patrolman Jeffrey Crosson said police received a call from the hospital emergency room about an assault victim. The complaint lists the time as 2:19am. Crosson talked to the woman in the emergency room. She said her boyfriend – Fehr – had punched her in the head, causing her to hit her head on a front-porch railing. Easton police served a search warrant on a South Side home Monday afternoon, but offered little information about the case. The search at 139 Scott St. was done on behalf of the King's County District Attorney's office in Brooklyn, according to a news release. The search warrant is sealed, police said, but did not say what evidence was uncovered. Police referred questions to the DA in New York. Representatives from the office were not immediately available for comment Monday evening.

Easton police say they will try to get restitution for costs incurred when bomb squad and fire department personnel responded to 'suspicious purse' report.
A former Easton woman has been charged with littering after she allegedly tossed a purse out a car window Tuesday—an action that caused the street to be shut down for nearly two hours while fire personnel and a bomb squad investigated whether the purse posed a threat to public safety. Yolanda Santana of New York City said she threw the purse out the window because she had purchased a new one, police said. Since she did not intend to cause harm, police said, Santana was charged with littering rather than more serious offenses.
