Winter Storm to Hit Easton Friday

National Weather Service issues winter storm warning for Friday and Saturday.

The National Weather Service says a winter storm will bring snow, ice, dangerous roads and possible power outages to Easton on Friday. The NWS has issued a winter storm warning for Easton and rest of Northampton County beginning Friday at 6 a.m. and ending Saturday at 6 a.m. The major impact will be in New England where a nor'easter-type storm could bring blizzard conditions and a foot of snow. Yet that doesn't let us off the hook, with the storm warning calling for 10 to 16 inches of snow, plus a trace of ice. That weather means "very hazardous travel" is expected Friday night, the NWS says.  Snow should develop Friday morning, then mix with or change to sleet and rain from southeast to northwest. Snow could be heavy at times later Friday…

Winter Storm Watch in Effect for Easton Saturday

National Weather Service says 4-6 inches could hit this weekend.

It’s less than midway through autumn, but weather forecasters are saying we may be in for some snow on the pumpkin Saturday. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Easton, the Lehigh Valley and points north and east. The watch calls for up to six inches of snow in the affected areas, particularly in higher mountain elevations. However, the weather service forecast for Easton is only calling for about an inch of snow to fall starting late Friday night and into a chilly Saturday when the forecast high temperature is only 41 degrees. Also, we're looking for snow photos. If you capture anything you want to send it, mail it to susan.koomar@patch.com. Stay safe this weekend!
