Patch 101: How to Claim Your Business Listing

Local business owners are encouraged to claim their listings in Easton Patch's "Places" directory.

Editor's note: This article originally appeared last month. We're reprinting it in an on-going effort to let business owners know about our directory. When we launched in November 2010, editors and freelancers ventured into our community to collect information on local businesses for our directory. Patch Places is where users can find descriptions, business hours, accepted payment methods and much more info on Easton area businesses. Users can add events happening at your location, rate the business on a scale of one to five stars and even add a review, but owners of local businesses get added bonuses like marketing tools and extra permissions when they claim a listing. Owners or managers should search for their business listing and click …

Porter's Wins Our St. Paddy's Poll

Readers pick West Ward pub as the best place to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Porter's Pub was the runaway winner in our Best Places to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day poll this week. The West Ward bar/restaurant took 50 percent of the vote, beating out such places as Pearly Baker's and Black & Blue. However, not a lot of people voted this week, so getting 10 votes -- as Porter's did -- amounted to a landslide. We'll have a complete list of local winners on Saturday. And come back on Monday to vote in our next poll, the best places in the city that offer free wi-fi.

Readers' Choice

Where's the Best Place to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day?

Where will you go to celebrate all things Irish?

St. Patrick's Day is on Saturday, and for our poll this week, we're asking readers to pick their favorite Easton places to celebrate.  We can't list every drinking establishment in the city, so I've just gone with a few likely suspects. As always, I invite readers to offer alternatives; if enough people pick one place early enough, I'll add it to the list. Here are this week's contenders: Also, check out the polls on our Bethlehem, Palmer and Nazareth sites to see what's in the running there.

Quadrant Wins Best Breakfast Poll

Downtown bookstore/coffeeshop fends off challenge from Mueller's in Williams Township.

This one was a horse race. The Quadrant took first place in our "Best Breakfast Spot" poll, fending off a pretty aggressive challenge from Mueller's Too in Williams Township. In fact, Mueller's had been in first place for awhile, until the Quadrant pulled head, gaining 49 percent of the vote to Mueller's 38 percent. Thanks to everyone who voted. We'll be back next week asking you to pick your favorite park in Easton.

What's the Best Breakfast Spot in Easton?

Pick your favorite breakfast spot in Easton...

This week, we're asking you to pick Easton's Best Breakfast Spot. Last week, quite a few of you responded to our Best Coffee poll, and we thank you for that. I'm listing the choices below, with a poll that goes with it. As always, we invite you to list anything you think we missed in the comments. I know a few people on Facebook and Twitter suggested Diner 248. I'll leave that to the Palmer-Forks Patch to take care of them (and the Tic Toc Diner, for that matter). Be sure to vote before Friday at 9 a.m. And check out our Bethlehem and Nazareth sites to see what's in the running there.
