Want to promote your yard sale or invite the community to the church choir concert? Add it to the calendar.
We receieved a small, but pleasant, surprise earlier this week when the Easton Main Street Initiative posted its entire run of summer concerts in the events section of our site. A few days after that, the Caribbean Steel Rhythms band posted a bunch of its upcoming show. Both those things took only a few minutes to do. If you'd like to share your events, follow these steps to learn how to add your event, and help us fill our calendar. Now the whole Patch community will know about your event, and it might even be featured in our "5 things" feature at the start of the week, or in our weekend events round-up each Friday. If you have any questions/problems, e-mail me at tom.coombe@patch.com

Just because you live in Easton doesn't mean you need to write about it.
Our bloggers write about all sorts of things, from architecture to dating past 50 to unsung Christmas movies to (and that's just one blogger.) A lot different topics, with one thing tying them together: they're all from Easton. We want our bloggers to live in -- or close to -- the city, but that doesn't mean you have to write about the city. Movies, politics, books, sports, whatever you want to say, you can say it here. If you're interested, here's where you can sign up. If you have questions, you can e-mail me at tom.coombe@patch.com. Hope to hear from you soon.

Having a block party? A bake sale? A guest speaker? Here's how to let the world know.
This article first appeared on one of our other sites, but it's content is useful for readers anywhere. Here in Easton, I regularly have people ask how they could go about promoting upcoming events. This is how: Follow these steps to learn how to add your event, and help us fill our calendar. Now the whole Patch community will know about your event, and it might even be featured in our "5 things" feature at the start of the week, or in our weekend events round-up each Friday. Need to promote a concert? Your church's block party? A school play? Here's how to do it.
If you're a regular reader, you know by now that I post these "Patch 101" pieces a few times a month. But I'm also more than happy to meet with people in the community to offer an in-person demonstration on how to post events. In the meantime, people who feel comfortable enough can follow these steps to learn how to add your event, and help us fill our calendar. Now the whole Patch community will know about your event, and it might even be featured in our "5 things" feature at the start of the week, or in our weekend events round-up each Friday.
