An Easton man is headed to trial for the fatal shooting of another man last summer in the West Ward, according to published reports. Naheem Adams, 20, is accused of shooting and killing George Jeter on July 27. In court on Friday, witnesses put Adams at the scene of the shooting, but said they didn't see Adams shoot Jeter, the Express-Times reported. The Morning Call says a witness testified Jeter went to 1434 Butler St. to deliver drugs before he was shot. At the hearing's conclusion, District Judge Richard Yetter ruled there was enough evidence for the case to proceed to Northampton County Court. City police had charged Adams, 20, with criminal homicide in Jeter's death soon after it happened and issued a warrant for his arrest. He was …

Three weeks before he'd become a wanted homicide suspect, Naheem Adams showed off a gun he'd just picked up. "Me and my girl just got back from New York, and look what I got," he said. That's according to court documents in which Easton police say witnesses have tied Adams to the death of George Jeter on July 27. Jeter, 28, of S. 14th Street, was shot to death on the 1400 block of Butler Street. According to court documents, a witness saw Adams -- who goes by the nickname "Dot" -- fleeing the scene. Another witness saw Adams, 20, in the vicinity of the shooting before Jeter was killed. Police say they recovered two small caliber shell casings from the scene. An autopsy later found two small caliber bullets inside Jeter's body. Authorities…

A man charged with last week's fatal shooting in Easton's West Ward has likely fled the city, a Northampton County prosecutor said. Police filed criminal homicide charges Saturday against Naheem Adams, the man they say is behind the fatal shooting of George Jeter last Friday night. On Monday, First Assistant District Attorney Terrence Houck told the Express-Times that investigators are "confident" Adams has left the Easton area. Houck also said the killing was the result of a grudge between Adams, 20, and Jeter, 28, but didn't give further details. Jeter was found shot to death in an alley along the 1400 block of Butler Street. His death was Easton's third homicide of the year. Adams is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with …
