Musikfest Highlights: August 10

There is rain in the forecast, but Sheryl Crow is playing the Sands Steel Stage and a 67-year-old polka band returns to Festplatz.

  The Weather: Showers and thunderstorms are likely – with some heavy downpours, according to the National Weather Service. It will be cloudy with a high of 85 degrees and a low of 68. The Headliner and The Highlight: The great Sheryl Crow exploded on the pop charts when All I Wanna Do from her year-old debut album “Tuesday Night Music Club” became a smash hit in 1994. She has won nine Grammy Awards and sold 35 million albums worldwide. Tickets at $40 and $30 are still available. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Show starts at 7:30. For the Little Ones: It’s Superhero Day at the Peeps & Company Banana Island Craft Tent. Also, the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania set up shop to provide information about their programs. Musikfest Highlights: August 9

Jane's Addiction plays the Sands Steel Stage; hear some authentic Polish polka at Festplatz, and it's Beach Day at Plaza Tropical.

  The Weather: Partly sunny, with scattered thunderstorms and a high of 89 degrees. The National Weather Service says there is a 40 percent chance of rain, increasing to 50 percent in the evening. The Headliner: Jane’s Addiction, on-again, off-again, hard/alternative rock band from Los Angeles – featuring singer Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro – that formed in 1985.  The band stops at the Sands Steel Stage at PNC Plaza for its “Theatre of the Escapists” tour. Band of Skulls is the opening act. Tickets at $49 and $34 are still available. Gates open at 6 p.m. Show starts at 8. The Highlight: Beach Day at Plaza Tropical will feature some sounds we typically associate with summer. The Great White Caps play surf rock at 1:30 p.m. The …
