Although its current building was constructed between 1775 and 1776, the First United Church of Christ's presence in Easton dates back even further, to 1745. During the Revolutionary War, the church served as as hospital for wounded soldiers, and George Washington is believed to have visited troops here during one of his trips to the city. Today the church is led by two pastors: Rev. Michael Dowd and Rev. William Wightman.
