Live Music, ConneXions Anniversary This Weekend in Easton

A look at what's happening this weekend in Easton.

Hello everyone. We're halfway through the week, so let's take a look at what's happening in and around Easton this weekend.

1. The Easton Farmers' Market's winter market is back for its second year, although in a new location, at 325 Northampton St. More than 35 vendors will be selling their goods Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The market will operate indoors until the first weekend of May, when it returns to Centre Square.

2. ConneXions Gallery, at 213 Northampton St. marks 10 years under its current owners, and 23 years in business altogether, Saturday at 7 p.m. The evening also features the music of Carter Lansing.

3. The Wizards of Winter bring the music of the Transiberian Orchestra to the State Theatre Sunday at 4 p.m. 

4. Suddenly Samantha presents Deck the Walls, an art show featuring 20 skateboard decks decorated by 20 local artists. The opening reception runs Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. All proceeds from the sale of the decks benefit Safe Harbor.

5. The six-member Funk Xpress plays Saturday evening at the Lafayette Bar's Jazz Night, starting at 9:30 p.m.

6. Lafayette College's music department holds its Holiday Concert Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Williams Center for the Arts. Also this weekend, the college's Marquis Consort, led by Jorge Torres, brings a program that ranges from 16th-century Spanish music to traditional Irish music. That's scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Williams Center.

7. The Easton Area Public Library holds its annual holiday book sale Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

8. Hear vocals and jazz guitar from the Grammy-nominated duo of Erin McGuirk and Frank DiBussolo, Saturday from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Mesa, 42 S. 3rd St.

9. Mercantile Home, 140 Northampton St., opens its 25th art show, Lovelight, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
