Cut-a-Thon, College Hill Party This Weekend

A look at what's happening this week in Easton.

Hello everyone.Let's take a look at what's happening this weekend in Easton.

1. If you get your hair cut Sunday afternoon at Suddenly Samantha, you'll be helping preserve land in the Amazon rainforest. Proceeds raised during the Easton salon's "Cut-a-Thon"—1 p.m. to 5 p.m. —will go to a year-long fundraising campaign. Hair cuts that are normally $60 will go for $30. There will light refreshments and a DJ. The salon is at 140 Northampton St., suite E.

2. Students from Easton's School of Rock will perform their dance rock show  Saturday at 5 p.m. at Rivals at 5 Lehns Court.

3. The College Hill Neighborhood Association hosts its annual New Year celebration, although you don't need to be from College Hill to attend. It's free and open to anyone from Easton, although they ask that you bring a dish/appetizer to share. It's happening Saturday at 6 p.m. at the YR Social Club, 622 N. Delaware Drive.

4. Todd Ellison—director of the version of Annie currently on Broadway—pays tribute to George Gershwin at the State Theatre, 453 Northampton St., Saturday at 8 p.m.

5. Porter's Pub, at 700 Northampton St., hosts Scott Harrington & Friends (he's joined by Carter Lansing and David Kuhne) Saturday at 10 p.m.

6. ALL IS VANITY, an exhibition of women's art, curated by Jackie Lima, opens Sunday at noon at the Gallery at St. John's, 330 Ferry St.

7. Two Rivers Brewing has Anthony Zucchero Saturday at 9 p.m. at 542 Northampton St.

9. There's also live music at Pearly Baker's, with the Trouble-City All Stars on stage Saturday at 10 p.m. at the restaurant, 11 Centre Square.
