Council Reorganization, New Year Ahead This Week

A look at what's happening this week in Easton.

Hello everyone. We're at the start of a new week, so—for the last time in 2013—let's see what the next few days have to offer.

1. New Year's Day is a holiday, which means pretty much all government offices in Easton are closed, including city hall.

2. On Thursday, city council will hold its special reorganization meeting, scheduled for 6 p.m. at city hall.

3. We'll have a larger list of New Year's Eve happenings around the city tomorrow. Among them will be Porter's Pub's 24th annual New Year's celebration, happening Tuesday at 10 p.m., with music from the Depas.

4. Lafayette College's men's basketball team takes on the Army squad Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Kirby Sports Center.

5. Easton Area High School students who want to practice the SAT/ACT tests can do so Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the school's senior cafeteria.
