Want to Help Make a 4,500 Foot Ribbon?

Easton's Beginning Over Foundation hopes its Guinness World Record can raise awareness for Domestic Violence.

Easton's Beginning Over Foundation wants to break a world record later this year, and it needs your help to do it.

The anti-domestic violence organization wants to make the Guinness World Record for longest awareness ribbon.

The event will take place Saturday, May 24 at the Bethlehem Golf Club, where the foundation hopes to unveil 4,500 feet of purple ribbon. The current record is held by the  Aid and Hope Program for Cancer Patient Care in Gaza, which crafted a 4,097 foot ribbon in 2012.

"The message of the purple ribbon helps shed light on one of the most unreported crimes that affects 1 out of 4 women in the U.S., in addition to impacting countless children, teenagers as well as men," foundation president Heidi Markow said in a news release.

If you'd like to help out, visit  https://www.facebook.com/BeginningOver or email Heidi@BeginningOver.org for more information.

The Beginning Over Foundation was founded in 2006 in memory of Markow's late sister, a victim of domestic violence. Its goal is to offer support to survivors of domestic violence and their families.
