Shiloh Church Begins Homeless Ministry

Easton church giving people with nowhere else to go a warm place to sleep two nights a week.

Starting Thursday, Easton's Greater Shiloh Church will open its doors to those who have nowhere else to get warm.

The church, at 403 Pastor Fred Davis St. on the city's South Side, will offer shelter twice a week from now until April.

“This is a great opportunity for us to serve our brothers and sisters who are in need," ministry coordinator Jason K. Vanderburg said in a news release.  “This isn’t something we plan to do for the season.  Serving others is a mandate by Jesus Christ and we will continue serving people until Christ returns.”

The program is also inspired by Bethlehem's emergency sheltering program, the church says.
