Delays Possible on Route 22 in Easton Tuesday

Bridge commission says drivers could see delays on first day after new traffic pattern is in effect.

The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission is warning drivers they could run into delays Tuesday morning as new traffic patterns emerge on Route 22 in Easton.

Tuesday will be the first peak commuting time where drivers have to deal with a new ramp configuration on the highway.

At 9:15 a.m. Monday, the commission shut down the Route 22 eastbound on ramp at Second and Bushkill streets as part of its bridge rehab project.

That makes the newly reopened on-ramp at Route 611 north the only way to get onto Route 22 from downtown Easton. The DRJTBC says delays could be possible on Route 22 and on downtown Easton streets.

The shutdown is expected to last until mid-December.
