Young Players Continue Easton/P-Burg Rivalry

Annual Lil Rovers/P'burg Pals game played at Easton's Cottingham Stadium Saturday.

Every year, it's Easton's biggest sporting event: the Thanksgiving Day game against Phillipsburg.

On Saturday, parents from both sides gathered at Cottingham Stadium to watch a smaller version of the game unfold, with Easton's Lil Rovers -- the city's youth football teams -- taking on their New Jersey counterparts, the P'Burg Pals, and winning all four games.

Players ranged in age from 5 to 13. (The youngest kids play flag football.)

The high school football teams are scheduled to meet for their 106th match-up next month. Both teams have split their Thanksgiving Day game wins in the last two years.
