Easton/P'Burg Game Will Be Shown Live

Fans had lamented loss of annual Thanksgiving game's live broadcast.

If you've been mourning the live broadcast of the annual Easton/Phillipsburg game, put away the black armbands.

The Thanksgiving Day game will be shown live this year, contrary to what school officials had said previously.

That's according to Easton Area School Board President Robert Fehnel, who took some time at the start of Tuesday's school board meeting to address the fallout from the board's vote in July to give broadcast rights for the game to Service Electric instead of RCN.

At the time, school officials said the change would mean that the game would no longer be shown live.

This was unwelcome news for a lot of Easton fans, many of whom consider watching the game while preparing Thanksgiving dinner part of the tradition.

Fehnel said that while Service Electric will broadcast the game, RCN customers will still be able to watch via channel WLVT.
