NCC Gets $100,000 Federal Grant

Money will help college train students in computer/web skills.

Northampton Community College has gotten a $100,000 grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission.

That's according to U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey, who had written to the commission on behalf of the college in June.

The college will use the money to purchase technology to train students at its Monroe County campus in web development, computer information sciences, web site design, and computer maintenance.

The Appalachian Regional Commission is a federal/state agency designed to help the 13 Appalachian states improve their economy and infrastrurcture.
