Lafayette Prof's Novel Up for Two Awards

Alix Ohlin's book 'Inside' nominated for two major literary prizes in her native Canada.

A Lafayette College professor is in the running for two major literary awards in her native Canada.

English professor Alix Ohlin's Inside is a finalist for both the Scotiabank Giller Prize and the Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize, both of which recognize excellence in novels and short fiction. Ohlin is one of five finalists for both prizes.

According to Lafayette, the novel is "a story about three people whose lives intersect in unexpected ways over the course of about 10 years."

Ohlin, who was born and raised in Montreal, has written another novel The Missing Person, as well as two collections of short stories. Her work has appeared in Best American Short StoriesBest New American Voices and on National Public Radio's Selected Shorts.
