Easton Raises School Lunch Prices

It will cost 5 to 10 cents more to eat lunch at Easton Area schools next year.

The cost of eating lunch at Easton Area schools will probably go up next year.

The Easton Area School Board will vote later this month to raise the price of school lunches from to  for the 2012-2013 academic year.

District Chief Operating Officer Michael Simonetta said the price increase is being done to keep the district in compliance with the state average of $2.05 per lunch.

The new price structure:

  • Kindergarten to Fourth grade: $1.90 to $2.00
  • Fifth and Sixth Grade: $1.90 to $2.10
  • Seventh to 12th Grade: $2.05 to $2.10

The board is expected to vote on the price increase at its June 26 meeting.
