Strange Virus at Northampton County Prison

Quarantine lifted at Northampton County Prison, but officials have no answers.

Officials at have lifted a quarantine at the building after an unexplained virus sickened a several inmates last week.

According to the Express-Times, between two and three dozen inmates showed symptoms of the illness, including vomiting, nausea and diarrhea. 

The outbreak began on Wednesday, leading to a quarantine that was lifted Tuesday afternoon. No new cases have been reported since Friday; the state Department of Health was called in, but officials have yet to diagnose the problem.
