Police Search for Armed Suspects

Easton police issue warrant for city man in incident in which a gun was allegedly pointed at the victim.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of an Easton man who faces assault and terroristic threats charges after police were called Sunday to a report of a burglary in progress.

City police said they responded to a report of a burglary in progress at 1011 Northampton Street at 9:47 p.m. Sunday and the burglars were allegedly armed. 

The 39-year-old victim reportedly escaped unharmed. Officers searched the area but couldn't locate the armed burglars. One of the suspects was identified as Humberto Lopez, 22, with a last known address of 1011 Northampton Street -- he is believed to be a recent roomate of the victim, police said.

During the incident, he was accompanied by two males and one of those males allegedly pointed a rifle at the victim, according to police. 

Lopez is charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault and recklessly endangering.

Police said the suspects might have been driving a red Honda Civic, 1990s model, or a white Jeep.
