Patch Is Collecting Debate Questions for Obama and Romney

If you have a question for the candidates, submit it in the comments section below and it could be asked during the televised Oct. 16 Town Hall Presidential Debate.

How would you like to ask the president -- or the man who wants to be president -- a question?

If last Wednesday’s presidential debate left you with more questions than answers, here’s your chance for the presidential candidates to address the issues that most matter to you.

The next presidential debate will be a town hall meeting format at Hofstra University in Long Island, where voters will ask President Obama and Mitt Romney about domestic and foreign policy.

Patch is asking readers to participate by submitting questions for the candidates.

All you have to do is post your question in the comments section below and we’ll send it to the Commission on Presidential Debates. The Commission is partnering with Patch's parent company Aol, along with Google and Yahoo, to take questions from web users across the country.

Don’t wait until Nov. 6 to have a say in this year’s election. Share your thoughts in the comments!

What will be the federal government's response if, as expected, Washington and Colorado's marijuana legalization ballot initiatives pass?

In the debate, I do not want these empty statements on what they will do as President. I want to hear the plan for how they will get there. For example, it is very easy to say I will cut the deficit (which has been said before and it has only gone up). Give specifics of the execution plan, where the money is going to come from and where it is going to go. Enough of the confidence game, Mr. Obama and, Mr. Romney not the same from you either. Please cut the bombast.

i am really interested on foreign policy... how obahma can speak at the united nations about the film produced in america being the reason for the rioting and killing of americans knowing it was another big lie and not blasting those barbarians he seems to be catering to those terrorists who seem to enjoy blowing themselves up, if it means an american will die

The situation in Syria is becoming more volitile every day. Governer Romney has indicated that he would provide more arms to the Syrian rebels. According to experts, this move would likely cause Assads allies to provide even more arms as well raising the risk of an all out regional war and perhaps worse. I have two questions, one for Governer Romney, why do you feel that additional arms will make the situation better. And second, if the end result is an escalation into all out regional war, America would also be drawn in. We already have two wars that are not paid for. Increasing the size of the military budget and potentially entering into another war will obviously be a tremendous drag on the budget. How will you pay for this escalation? Are you willing to plunge America even further into debt? Will you increase taxes? Will you slash all other programs?

I am a veteran school administrator in the New Jersey public schools and I have three young childrenRead More in the district. I am frightened and worried about our schools. What would it take for the PADOE to take over the district? Electing new board members is not enough. We need help from the state as soon as possible. The district needs to be stabilized and then everything from soup to nuts must be assessed by an outside educational entity. Our children deserve much better!

I hear the NFSA does a good job helping school districts and from the list of PA schools a number ofRead More local schools, like Parkland and some in Bucks County participate. Maybe this is something Easton needs to do. http://www.schoolfoundations.org/en/about_nsfa/
