Easton Mayor Sal Panto has been appointed to the National League of Cities' Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Steering Committee for 2014.

This is his fourth year with the committee, which has allowed him to represent the league in meetings with the federal Environmental Protection Agency and White House staff.

"As a member of the committee, Panto will play a key role in shaping NLC’s policy positions and advocate on behalf of America’s cities and towns before Congress, with the Administration and at home," the league said in a news release.
