No Cut-Off Shorts For Wilson Borough Workers

Wilson Borough Council bans cut-off shorts for its public works employees.

The borough of Wilson has barred its public works employees from wearing shorts on the job.

According to the Morning Call, borough council voted Monday night to approve a dress-code policy for workers that says they must wear long pants and cannot wear any loose or torn clothing.

This came after Greg Drake, the head of the public works department, reported to council that workers were wearing cut off shorts and t-shirts with the sleeves cut out on the job. Drake said this could present a danger to workers, because loose fabric could get caught in machinery.
