Governor: Pallet Company Will Move to Glendon

Gov. Tom Corbett said Rehrig Pacific Logistics will open plant in Glendon.

Rehrig Pacific Logistics, a company based in Wisconsin, will open a new plant in Glendon, Gov. Tom Corbett announced Tuesday.

The company will use the facility -- inside the -- to turn scrap pallets from its other Pennsylvania plants into fiberboard. It's expected to create 39 jobs.

"There are currently no companies in the U.S. converting wood waste in this manner," Todd Rodewald, Rehrig's director of innovation and operations, said in a news release. "The facility will be producing a 100 percent recycled wood product for use in the furniture and construction industries."

According to a news release from Corbett, the state gave Rehrig a $750,000 loan to start the project, as well as an additional $17,550 for job training.
