National Take Back Day

Do you have old prescription drugs you want to get rid of?

Easton residents can dispose of outdated and unwanted prescription medication safely on Saturday as part of the Drug Enforcement Agency's third annual national Take-Back Day project.

Medications can be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at these Easton area locations:

  • The Giant pharmacy in Forks Township.
  • The Lower Nazareth Target
  • The Phillipsburg police department, 1 Corliss Ave. in Phillipsburg.

Police will collect prescription and over-the-counter medications including liquid products and creams in containers. Syringes will not be accepted. Officials say keeping outdated or unwanted medicines at home poses a danger to children, teens and older adults.

According to the DEA, past Take Back Days have collected more than 309 tons of unwanted pills.
