Easton Republicans to Host Voter ID Forum

Easton Republican Committee says it wants to educate residents, dispel misconceptions.

The City of Easton Republican Committee will host a forum next Tuesday to educate the public about Pennsylvania's .

The forum -- scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Easton Senior Center in Centre Square -- will include a presentation on the new law, which will require all voters to show ID at the polls starting in the November election.

According to a news release, the committee has invited local politicians such as state Sen. Bob Mensch and state Rep. Joe Emerick, as well as Republican .

John Van Arman, chairman of the committee, said he also wants to dispel the notion that his party wants to use the law to keep people from voting.

"I don't care if you're Democrat, Republican, Libertarian or Communist, I'll give you a ride," he said.
