Easton Mayor on Sickened Cruise Ship But Fine

Easton Mayor Sal Panto was aboard the Royal Carribbean's Explorer of the Seas cruise ship on which more than 300 people have fallen sick, according to published reports.

Panto told lehighvalleylive.com that "You roll with the punches" when on vacation. "We're having a good time."

The ship, which left Bayonne, N.J., Tuesday, had arrived in St. Thomas, where health officials were boarding to investigate. The ship is due back Friday. 

The Centers for Disease Control said on its website that 281 of 3,050 passengers and 22 of 1,165 crew members fell ill with most reporting vomiting and diarrhea.

The cause of the outbreak is not yet known.
