Easton Cuts Block Grants
Easton cuts back on funding for code enforcement, trees, and the Ambassadors.
Easton has cut back on its Community Development Block Grant budget, which is used each year to fund various projects around the city.
According to the Express-Times, the city had to chop more than $127,000 from its CDBG plan after getting less money than anticipated from the federal government.

- $54,000 from $200,000 meant for code enforcement.
- $10,001 meant for the police department to conduct saturation patrols.
- $16,857 for trees, which Mayor Sal Panto said can be made up with state grant money. This cut comes months after a storm that brought down around the city.
- The Greater Easton Development Partnership will get $43,000 for its program, rather than the $50,000 it had requested.
