Dogs and Cats Still Welcome at Easton Events

Rather than household pets, Easton may focus ban on "wild and exotic" animals at special events.

Easton dog and cat lovers, you can breathe easy: your pets are still welcome at city events.

That's the word from city council's Public Safety Committee, which is still looking at some form of legislation that would keep "wild and exotic animals" from things like and .

Council began , but members of the public expressed concerns that a ban on dogs would keep people away from events.

The revamped law would allow traditional household pets, but bar less traditional creatures. As Mayor Sal Panto noted, no one would be able to walk the streets carrying a snake on a regular day, so why allow it during a special event.
