City to Pay Former Cop $29,000

Easton City Council votes to settle lawsuit by former police captain John Mazzeo.

Easton City Council has approved a settlement with a former city police captain to help cover his legal fees from another lawsuit.

Council on Wednesday voted for the settlement with John Mazzeo, who sued the city and Mayor Sal Panto in 2011.

Mazzeo was seeking reimbursement for legal fees he accrued when he was named in a wrongful death lawsuit connected to the death of Officer Jesse Sollman, who was accidentally shot and killed by fellow officer Matthew Renniger in 2005.
