City Approves Parking Changes

Meter, traffic ordinances go into effect in 30 days.

Easton city council unanimously approved the following parking and traffic regulation changes at their meeting Wednesday evening, held at the College Hill Presbyterian Church in College Hill.

  • The parking lot on South Third Street will offer extended time allowances on meters—eight meters on the north side of the building will offer a 3-hour limit, while all the other meters in the lot will have a 10-hour limit.

  • A stop sign will be added for eastbound traffic on Church Street at Sitgreaves Street.

  • A “no parking anytime” zone will be created on both sides of the 1000 block of Willow Street.

  • Two 30-minute parking zones to be enforced Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. will be added in front of 703 and 707-709 Wood Avenue.

  • In exception to the city norm of metered parking from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, the following paid parking locations will operate as follows:

  • Meters on Larry Holmes Drive, from South Third Street to Northampton Street, will operate Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Meters in the courthouse district of the West Ward will operate 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. This includes Ferry Street, from Union to Washington streets, South 7th Street, from Walnut to Washington streets, Union Street, from Ferry to Washington streets, and the 500 and 600 blocks of Washington Street.

  • The changes will go into effect in 30 days.
