Worker Stole Money From Bon-Ton, Police Say

Easton woman accused of stealing from Palmer Township department store.

An employee of The Bon-Ton store in Palmer Park Mall admitted to police and store officials she took a total of $380 in cash on five days between Nov. 29 and two days before Christmas, court records say.

Paula Dominique Holloman-Willis, 25, of 926 Washington St., Easton, came onto the radar screen of store officials when they discovered cash shortages in the women's department, the records say.

According to a criminal complaint filed by Palmer Township officer Martin Ramirez:

The officials determined that the shortages were occurring when Holloman-Willis was working. A store loss-prevention official looked at surveillance video that showed Holloman-Willis taking cash from a register and putting it "in her possession."

On Saturday afternoon, store officials escorted Holloman-Willis while she was working to the loss-prevention office. With Ramirez looking on, she admitted to taking money on five days between Nov. 29 and Dec. 23. She made the same admission later at police headquarters.

Holloman-Willis was charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition. She was arraigned at 5:40pm Saturday by on-duty District Judge Robert Hawke of Lehigh Township and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
