Woman Rips Out Prison Guard's Dreadlocks

A female inmate at Northampton County Prison was arraigned Tuesday on charges that she attacked two guards.

Danielle Nicole Genteel, 20, of Pen Argyl, is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment in connection with the incident last month.

According to court records, two guards -- Mark Williams and Brenda Strong -- were removing commissary items from Genteel's cell when she attacked them.

Genteel allegedly ripped three dreadlocks from Strong's scalped and scratched Williams. It wasn't clear why Genteel was in prison in the first place. She was arraigned before District Judge Gay Elwell, who set bail at $75,000.
