Wilson Police: Man Tried to Rob CVS

Police say Wilson CVS robbery failed after cashier didn't hand over any money.

On June 9, a man walked into the in Wilson and handed a cashier a note that contained an ultimatum: "This is a robbery give me the money and no one will get hurt...I have a gun."

But the clerk didn't hand over the money, and the robber left empty-handed.

Now, police in Wilson have charged a man with that robbery attempt, according to the Express-Times.

Douglas William Depugh, 43 of Hanover Township was arrested Saturday, identified by police through the store's video cameras.

He is charged with criminal attempt to commit robbery, making terroristic threats and retail theft. That last charge is connected to an alleged theft in Palmer Township, where Depugh is suspected of stealing shrimp and steaks from the 25th Street last month.

He was sent to in lieu of $30,000 bail.
