Wilson Man Headed to Court in Prescription Case

Steven Piperato is accused of using fake prescriptions 76 times at Easton area drug stores.

A Wilson man accused of in order to get amphetamine pills is headed to Northampton County Court.

Steven Piperato waived the charges against him in a hearing Tuesday afternoon before District Judge Gay Elwell.

Piperato, 51, of North 16th Street, is charged with 26 counts acquisition of a controlled substance by fraud, a felony.

According to police, Piperato filled 26 prescriptions for amphetamine salts at the in Easton's West Ward.

Amphetamine salts are stimulant drugs that excite the central nervous system. They are used in the drug Adderall, which is prescribed for attention deficit disorder and narcolepsy.
