Wilson Man Charged in Drug Raid

Police say Terrell Sorey Jr. sold crack to informant.

A Wilson man, allegedly a member of the Crips street gang, was apprehended Saturday during an early-morning raid and charged with selling crack cocaine to a confidential informant and possessing 30 packets of heroin.

Terrell Tywane Sorey Jr., 19, of 1518 Lehigh St.was taken into custody during the 6:40am raid Saturday at the Bangor residence of a second suspect, Steven Robert Lix, also 19, of 25 S. 9th St.

They are facing multiple charges related to the possession and delivery of crack cocaine and heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia including a digital scale, plastic bags, rolling papers and a marijuana pipe.

According to court records:

-- A confidential informant texted Lix on Jan. 12 about buying $60 of crack cocaine at Lix’s residence. The transaction occurred at 8:23pm on Jan. 12. Sorey handed Lix a baggy containing crack and Lix handed the baggy to the informant.

-- On Friday (Jan. 27), the informant contacted Lix via cell phone to buy crack at Lix’s residence. The informant was driven to the area of the nearby Turkey Hill on Market Street (Route 512). The informant met Lix in the store’s parking lot and gave the informant a bag of crack.

--During the Jan. 28 raid, police found 30 bags of heroin as well as the drug paraphernalia.

--The records identify Sorey as a Crips gang member.

Sorey and Lix were arraigned later Saturday by on-duty District Judge Robert Hawke of Lehigh Township. Sorey was taken to after failing to post $150,000 bail and Lix was taken to the prison after failing to post $75,000 bail.
