Easton Woman, Trooper among 3 Hurt in Crash on I-78/Route 33 Ramp
A state trooper investigating an earlier crash and two others were hurt in Sunday morning crash.
A state trooper and a pedestrian suffered minor injuries Sunday morning in a crash on the ramp to Interstate 78 west from Route 33 south in Lower Saucon Township.
State police at Belfast said a trooper, who was investigating an earlier crash, and the pedestrian, Alma Laughlin-Warren, 49, of Easton, were taken to St. Luke's University Hospital, Fountain Hill, for an evaluation. The trooper was not named.
Also injured and taken to St. Luke's Hospital-Anderson Campus for an evaluation was driver Travis Weisberg, 21, of Sellersville. He also suffered a minor injury, police said.
According to state police, Laughlin-Warren and the trooper were standing in a grassy area of the ramp's north berm alongside a car that had been disabled from an earlier crash.
Weisberg lost control of his car as he negotiated the curve on the ramp to I-78 west from Route 33 south, police said. His car spun clockwise, striking the disabled car, which was then pushed into the trooper and Laughlin-Warren, the release said.
Weisberg's car then struck another car parked on the north berm near the disabled car, the release said.
The accident happened at 8:37 a.m.
