Thief Shoved Stolen Diapers Down His Pants, Police Say

Men from Easton and Allentown charged with stealing from Wilson Kmart.

Written by Daryl Nerl

An Easton man and an Allentown man teamed up to steal diapers from the Kmart on 25th Street in Wilson on Tuesday evening, according to court papers.

One man ripped open a $20 box of diapers and handed the contents individually to the other man, who stuffed them down his pants, police said.

When Kmart security confronted the two men, they ran, but Wilson Borough police were ultimately able to catch them at other nearby stores, court papers said.

Arrested were Noslen DeJesus-Torres, 23, of 1000A Elm St., Easton, and Jose Toledo-Lugo, 22, of 333 N. Hall St., Allentown. Toledo-Lugo allegedly tore open the box and handed the diapers to DeJesus-Torres, who stuffed them in his pants, according to an affidavit.

When caught in the parking lot of a nearby Sunoco station, police said, Toledo-Lugo initially lied about his identity, saying his name was Hector Lopez. His true identity was discovered after he was taken to Northampton County facilities for central booking, according to the affidavit. Police also found that he was wanted for a probation violation in Lehigh County.

DeJesus-Torres, meanwhile, had two prior retail theft convictions, police said. He was charged with felony retail theft and criminal conspiracy.
