Second Bomb Threat Reported at EAHS

For the second time in two days, a bomb scare causes Easton Area High School to be evacuated.

was evacuated Wednesday afternoon after the school received a bomb threat.

It was the in as many days. And like the threat that emptied the Palmer Township school on Tuesday, it appeared to be a hoax.

According to a district news alert, the school was evacuated at 1:25 p.m. due to the threat. Palmer Township police and firefighters responded, and a township police dog sniffed for bombs, finding nothing. Students and staff members returned to school about 30 minutes after the evacuation.

Also on Wednesday, the district reported that a man on Easton's South Side attempted to rob a student.

According to the district, the student said he was walking near Packer and Berwick streets when a man wearing a ski mask approached him as he was walking to his bus. The student told school officials the man had a gun. The incident happened at 6:50 a.m.
