A Easton woman charged last week with hitting her boyfriend with a partially opened Samurai sword is facing additional charges.
This time, Daisy Estremera, 50, is charged with kicking the city police officer who accompanied her to Northampton County Prison during the arrest process.
Patrolman D. Timothy Wagner writes in a criminal complaint that while escorting Estremera inside the prison at 3:37 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 19), she turned away from him and kicked him in the right knee, causing his leg to buckle and swelling and pain to the knee.
He said that before she kicked him, she refused to walk to the prison’s processing center, forcing him to make several requests for her to continue walking.
Estremera was taken into custody earlier Saturday for allegedly hitting her boyfriend with the sword, causing injuries to his head and face. She was charged with simple assault, harassment and recklessly endangering another person.
In the prison incident, she was charged with aggravated assault – a level-two felony – simple assault and harassment.
Estremera, who lives at an apartment at 600 Canal St., was arraigned Wednesday night by on-duty District Judge Joseph Barner of Lower Nazareth Township, who set bail at $1,000.
Barner also arraigned her Saturday in the sword incident and set bail at $7,500, which she was unable to make.
