Reward Offered in Wilson Child Luring Cases

Wilson businessman will give $1,000 to whoever provides information leading to arrest and conviction in child luring incidents.

A Wilson businessman is offering a reward for information that could help police track down men preying on children in the borough.

Over the past week, local police have logged three separate instances of men trying to lure girls in Wilson and Easton.

On Friday, Wilson police said a borough business owner was offering $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any of these men. The business owner wants to stay anonymous, police said.

"The Police Department is very grateful for the offer and hopes that these cases are resolved quickly," Chief Steven Parkansky said in a news release, adding that police had no new information on the cases.

The first incident happened Sunday, when a man in a green van approached a 9-year-old girl at 19th Street and Hay Terrace.

Also Sunday, a man in a red truck tried to get a 13-year-old girl to come with him in Easton.

On Tuesday afternoon in Wilson, an 11-year-old girl was chased home by a man who had approached her at 21st Street and Ealer Avenue.

There's a fourth incident that happened Wednesday, but it involved a 24-year-old woman approached by a man in a red van.

Parkansky has said the incidents are not related, but asks anyone who is approached to contact police right away.
