Police: Man Used Paperclip to Steal Earrings

Palmer Township police charge Easton man with Boscov's jewelry theft.

An Easton man was jailed Tuesday for allegedly using a paperclip to steal three pairs of earrings from a Palmer Township store.

According to court records, a security officer at the at the Palmer Park Mall caught Justin Starr using an unbent paperclip to steal the earrings from the store's jewelry case.

Starr, 29, of 119 S. Seventh St., took three pairs of 14-karat gold earrings valued at $270, police say.

He arraigned before District Judge on a retail theft charge and sent to in lieu of $1,000 bail.
