Police: Man Broke Into Easton Jewelry Store

Saheem Ibn Wright charged with burglary for allegedly breaking into J.C. Jewelry.

An Easton man was jailed Saturday for allegedly breaking into a Downtown jewelry store.

According to a news release, officers responded to a burglar alarm at J.C. Jewelry at 101 Northampton St. early Saturday and found a broken window.

A witness gave police a description of the burglar. A few blocks away, officers found a man matching that description: Saheem Ibn Wright, 19, of the 1400 block of Northampton Street.

Surveillance video later confirmed that Wright was the burglar, police said.

He was arraigned before District Judge Roy Manwaring in Bethlehem on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, loitering and prowling, and criminal mischief. Wright was sent to in lieu of $50,000 bail. Police say he was also detained because his arrest was a parole violation.
